YouTube is now working on a streaming cable service streamed over the Internet named as 'Unplugged'

The global video-sharing website YouTube is now wanted to  replace your TV.  The online video company has been reportedly working on a subscription-based online video streaming service called "Unplugged." According to the Bloomberg News report, Unplugged would offer online video and live TV channels in bundles from media providers for a $35 monthly fee.

The project, for which YouTube has already overhauled its technical architecture, is one of the online video giant’s biggest priorities and is slated to debut as soon as 2017, one of the people said. YouTube executives have discussed these plans with most major media companies, including Comcast's NBC Universal, Viacom, Twenty-First Century Fox and CBS, but have yet to secure any rights, said the people, who asked not to be identified.

After 2014’s YouTube Red, 'Unplugged' is considered as  a paid subscription service that would offer customers a bundle of cable TV channels streamed over the Internet, people familiar with the plan said. While  Red subscription service  lets users stream ad-free videos, watch videos offline, and listen to ad-free music. Unplugged would be different since it would have live TV channels and other exclusive content.

YouTube has been working on an online cable package since at least 2012, one of the people said, but these plans have taken on new urgency in the past few months. However, since YouTube is already such a huge platform, it might be less of a leap for users to sign up to Unplugged over another service. The entirety of YouTube's architecture has reportedly been revamped to support such a service, and it could debut as early as 2017.
